Peterson Fall Highlights!!

Here is a little recap of our amazing fall! It flew by fast but was really fun!

Zerek's first haircut!!! He was so good and sat so still!
Bella in her Character parade in school.  They had to dress like a character from a book.
Bella is a Daisy Girl Scout!!! She absolutely loves it and is doing so well! We are selling cookies for the first time this weekend on base!
My baby boy turned 2!
Bella the soccer player! While she might not have the greatest attention span, she does have much better coordination than her mother (most people will agree)!!!
The Peterson's came to visit! It was great to have them here for 10 days and show them around! The kids had so much fun and were so sad when they left.  (Photo's on Facebook)
Getting ready for our kids Christmas party we had at our house! While a little chaotic, I loved having all these kids and their mom here! Can't wait to do it again next year!
Cookie decorating at the party!
Zerek loved decorating cookies! I think more frosting made it into his mouth than anything else!
We have so many amazing sunset's here I am in awe most clear nights! The oranges are my favorite parts!

Heidelberg and Koblenz

The last leg of our journey brought us through Heidelberg and Koblenz.  Heidelberg happened to be where Bella's preschool teacher was from so we made sure to stop in for lunch and a wonder around.  I really wish we would have stayed the night but a lovely afternoon was good too!!!

Heidelberg Castle - Wow is all I can say.  We got to ride up on a funicular and this is what you see!!! It was such an amazing day and you could see for miles!  The castle is quite in ruins, but still has some area's that are not that are used for events and what not.  Here is some info on the castle (Castel Info). One of the buildings had a pharmacy museum which was great. It showed the evolution of pharmacy throughout European history and the kids loved it!
Looking onto the city
Bella so proud that she is here!

I do not think this barrel holds enough wine. It was so huge!
Old Pharmacy cabinets
Pharmacy tools
Fountain back in town
Koblenz - Koblenz is about 2 hours from Heidelberg and was really just a stopping point for the day at the tail end of our trip. There is not much here but it is where the Moselle and Rhine rivers come together (Deutsche Eck).  The drive here was absolutely amazing through the Moselle Valley! I have never seen so many wine fields in my life!!! Where they two rivers come together there is a pretty great monument and place for the kids to run around.
Amazing walkway next to the Moselle
Spectacular sunset!
The Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial
Love my kiddo's!!! Especially when they smile!

Rothenburg ob der Tauber...so cute!

Our next stop was Rothenburg ob der Tauber which is a preserved medieval town in Bavaria.  It is quite small and is completely walled around. According to Rick Steve's it will kill you with cuteness and it did! Once you drive through the wall you feel transported back in time! The buildings are beautiful, so clean and well kept, and the food was great!  We got there early while it was drizzling so we decided to wall the city wall so the kids could stretch their legs. The views from the top of the wall were amazing!

Hams!

Bella and daddy!
She was so excited to find this bear!
The famous Schneeballs (I didn't not like them as I thought they tasted like stale fried dough, but Bella loved them)
Outside of St. Jakobskirche (Church of St. Jacob). This sculpture was stunning!
Outside the famous Käthe Wohlfahrt store
This is a famous building shown in many pictures of Rothenburg
After some wondering, I took Zerek back for a nap and Sean took Bella to the Käthe Wohlfahrt Christmas museum. You can't take pictures but click on the link to see how awesome it is (Inside the store).

Kriminalmuseum - We had some time to kill before dinner so we headed to the Crime and Punishment Museum which was really cool!!! The kids loved everything. (The Museum Page) We could not take pictures so click on the link to check it out.  It was really reasonably priced and a great 2ish hour thing to do.

We stayed at an awesome hotel (Gasthof Greifen)  that had some amazing food!!!

Beer...yum
Huge potato dumpling was so good!
The sauce with this was to die for!!!!
While the kids went to bed with Sean I set out to take part in the Nightwatchman Tour, which was really awesome! It was such a beautiful night and you walk around the city with the tour guide learning all about the history of the town.  The guide is hilarious and I would highly recommend it if you stay the night (The Nightwatchman)! This place turns amazing at Christmas time so we are hoping to go back next year!
