Drielandenpunt - Three Country Point

We did this little afternoon trip on a beautiful day in February and thought I would share! The Drielandenpunt (Check it out) is the point where Germany, Netherlands, and Belgium come together.  It is also the highest point in the Netherlands.  The drive there is beautiful (all 20 minutes of it!) and it made for a wonderful afternoon!

The monument at the point.  Bella is in Belgium and Zerek in the Netherlands.
Quick family shot!!
This is the marker for the highest point in The Netherlands
Of course Bella had to have one too.
It had an amazing playground!
Zerek rode this slide about 10 times.

Pie for lunch...why not? The Dutch do it all the time!
And hot chocolate!
I added cream to mine with a cappuccino!  I think pie for lunch should happen more often!!!

Christmas in Austria!

While I was hesitant to spend Christmas away from home, a few co-workers of Sean's convinced us to go to skiing in Austria for Christmas break.  So glad we went! While it did not start off to great (a 7 hour drive turned into 9 and a half with traffic) it was so great when we got there! While I was hoping for some more snow (it was quite warm while we were there) it was still great.  Bella loved skiing for the first time and still asks to go all the time.  They had a nursery for Zerek which gave me a great break to take some lessons and sightsee a bit.  It was great for everyone (minus the stomach bug that we all got but only stuck around for about a day!).

First a little pre-Christmas present opening at our house!
Both smiling in front of the tree...rare!
Loved this from Aunt Dorann!
Dot Markers! He loves these!
Finally in Kirchdorf in Tirol Austira! Our journey was long but so nice when we got here!!
View from our room
Ready for her first day of ski lessons!
Day trip to Salzburg! Our tour company offered a day trip into Salzburg and it was so nice to be out and about without kids for once! It was such a beautiful day for walking around and checking out the Christmas market.  I would love to come back here and do some more exploring.
Walking over the river into the main part of town.
Didn't want to spend the money to walk into Mozart's birth place, but here is the proof that we saw it
Such beautiful Xmas decorations!
The largest cheese slicer I have ever seen! I wanted to take this home.
The awesomest mime/street performer I have ever seen! He looked like he was floating.
I have never seen so many pretzel's in my life.  All super healthy of course.
The cathedral was so beautiful!

One of the best things I have ever eaten...warm sauerkraut on fried dough. Oh, and the dough is brushed with garlic oil. OMG! So good!
Took the funicular car up to the castle.
View from the top! Like I said, it was an amazingly beautiful day!!!
Christmas evening! There was an amazing traditional Austrian dinner with cookies and mulled wine. It was so good!!!
They were so tired at this point!
But starving!
My beautiful baby girl!!! Love her!
Fighting the picture.
He likes his tongue out for pictures.
My boys!
Waiting for santa with some yummy cookies and mulled wine (non-alcoholic for her and alcoholic for me!)
He is here!
Santa brought her a purple race car she asked him for a few weeks before.  She was so excited.
They made me do it!
I posted some other pictures on facebook of skiing and what not.  It was a great trip! I did miss waking up in my house and making pancakes for breakfast, but for a year, it was great! Bella now has the skiing bug!
