Nuremburg!

After our beautiful day in Wurzburg it was onto Nuremberg which was the farthest part of our journey. There is so much history in Nuremberg.  Not only was it important during the rise of the Nazi party, it was also the site of the Nuremberg trials after the war.  The city was so beautiful.  We unfortunately did not make it to where the trials were held (probably not the best idea for kids) but enjoyed everything else that it had to offer! We stayed here for 2 days at Hotel Am Jakobsmarkt which was about a 8ish minute walk into the old town area.  We got a family room which was huge and the breakfast was great! Free parking made it even better (even though I swore we were not getting our car out of the parking area). I think 1 more day would have satisfied all I wanted to do (I heard the train museum was really cool and the German National museum that was right by our hotel). Next time I guess!

We got in kinda late so we started our sightseeing with some food!!! It was so good!
That ball is like a potato dumpling.  So good!
The sauce with the pork was divine! The red cabbage was amazing too.
She loves her pasta!
The next day was beautiful again and we set out for the day (which was long but so worth it).
St. Lorenz Church
Loved the stained glass! This never gets old. I wish we would have peaked in :(
Walking across the bridge to the main square
Loved this fountain!

Market Square - I have heard that this place is pretty amazing during their Christmas markets
Der Shoene Brunnen

The Frauenkirche
The Kaiserburg - Many German cities have their "castle's" that sit above the town.  This one was really cool and well maintained.  While walking up hill was a little tiring (go figure Bella was not the one that was tired) it was amazing.
Sean so frustrated with the cobblestones and the new stroller.  That was his workout for the day!
Looking down at the surrounding homes
The top!
Looking at the city
Zerek mesmerized by the paper horses that were running all along the ceiling.

Loved this crown

Everyone pretty much smiling over Nuremberg

Time to walk back down
Beer and sausage, what else could you ask for on a beautiful day!
Spielzeugmuseum  (Toy Museum )- We were not allowed to take pictures in the toy museum but here is the link that you can check it out.  It was really cool too see toys throughout the years and how well preserved things were.  Loved all the wooden toys (I love them now and buy them anytime I can!).  The top had a play area for the kids that was a nice 30 minute break.  It was reasonably priced and took up about 2 hours of our afternoon.

Finishing off the day -
Not that I really miss Starbucks, but a Pumpkin Spice Latte tasted pretty good.

Zerek was exhausted so no Starbucks for him

These pork medallions were so good and even better served on a heart plate with potato salad!
Best sausages in all of Germany!
